Traveller Encampment on Chatham Green - Statement issued 22 September at 11am
The City Council does not permit traveller encampments on Chatham Green and City Council Officers will visit the site as soon as possible to serve a trespass notice requiring the Travellers to vacate the land. If the Travellers refuse to vacate the land, the City Council will apply through the Courts for a possession order. The City Council will work with Essex Police to remove the illegal encampment as soon as possible.
Traveller Encampment on Springfield Green - Statement issued 21 September at 9am
The travellers left the site at Springfield Green on 20 September and the Chelmsford City Council Grounds team are on site to clean up the area. Steps to prevent further access by unauthorised vehicles will begin tomorrow (Thursday 22 September).
