Collection

We collect the green recycling boxes every two weeks. You can check your collection dates by entering your postcode or address.

You should rinse out dirty cans and glass, to remove food residue.

Our vehicles have limited storage for items such as clothes and WEEE. This means we may not have space for your items during our initial round. However, we will make alternative arrangements to collect these items later on in the day.

Clothes

If you are recycling clothes or shoes, we would encourage you to donate them to a charity shop. However, if you do put them out with your recycling, you need to put them in a separate plastic bag and leave them outside your green recycling box. We will only accept clean clothing that can be worn again, and shoes that are in a pair. We suggest reusing rags before placing them in the black bin (where possible). You can donate old towels and bedding to local rehoming centres and wildlife rescues.

Electricals and batteries

We can collect small electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that are no bigger than your green recycling box. You need to out the item in a separate plastic bag beside green recycling box on your collection day. You should leave any cables or plugs attached.

You can recycle batteries by taking them to any shop that also sells them.

Replacement box

You can order a new green recycling box online if yours is missing or damaged.

Our green boxes do not come with a lid, as they have holes in the bottom to let out rainwater. If your box originally had one, we will not replace it.
