Before you submitting a report, you need to read our guidance.

If there are no parking restrictions, as indicated by clear lines and signs, we will not investigate, as we are not legally able to.

You should report to Essex Police (link opens in new window) vehicles parked:

  • as to cause an obstruction or a hazard
  • on a footway (pavement) that is adjacent to a roadway without parking restrictions
  • on or opposite a junction without parking restrictions

You should report to Essex Highways (link opens in new window) vehicles parked on a grass verge next to the public highway with no yellow line.

We cannot investigate vehicles parked across dropped kerbs to private driveways (unless the vehicle completely obstructs access to the public highway from the private property).

We also cannot investigate vehicles parked on private property. You should report this to the landlord, landowner, developer or private parking company.

I have read and understood the guidance (required)

You will not be able to proceed with this form until you have read our guidance notes.
