Large item collection
We can collect large items from outside your flat or house, such as sofas, fridge freezers and sheds.
Before you request a large item collection, you need to make sure your item is something that we can collect.
If your item is too good to throw away, you could donate it to a good cause. The British Heart Foundation offers a free collection service for furniture and electrical items.
You can book your large item collection for a specific day, but you can't reserve a timeslot.
Once you have booked your collection, you will not be able to add or change items.
Fees
You will need to pay a non-refundable fee of:
- £20 for the first item
- £10 for each additional item
We will not be able to refund the fee if you cancel your booking.
Items we need to discuss with you
We will need to discuss your collection with you if you have:
- eight or more items
- heavy items, such as a shed, green house Aga or trampoline
- items containing foam, such as sofas, armchairs, dining chairs and footstools
You can still use our online form to request a collection for these items. We will contact you within five working days of your submission.

Once you have arranged your collection with us, you need to:
- leave the item at the front of your property or where we collect your bins from before 7am on the arranged collection day
- dismantle items like sheds, green houses, AGAs and trampolines before collection
- disconnect appliances from the service supply
