Black bin and food waste collections

Due to operational issues, we have had to reschedule collections for some areas on Friday 29 August 2025. We will now make the collections on Saturday 30 August 2025. This will affect black bin collections in Springfield and food waste collections in Boreham, and you can view a list of affected roads. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Request a collection

We provide a free incontinence waste collection service for residential properties in the Chelmsford area.

We provide a yellow topped bin for incontinence waste, such as incontinence pads.

Nappies are not incontinence waste and you can dispose of nappies in your black non-recyclables bin. You can check what goes in which bin

If you need to dispose of clinical waste, you can request a clinical waste collection.

If you already receive an assisted collection, you will automatically receive an assisted collection for the incontinence waste.

If we have missed your collection, you can report a missed collection online.
