Phone payments issue
We are curently having issues with our payments system, which means we are unable to take Council Tax payments over our automated phone line. We are working on the problem urgently and thank you for your patience. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Close your Council Tax account
If you are moving out of Chelmsford, you need to tell us so we can close your Council Tax account.
To notify us about the change, you will need to tell us:
- the date you move out
- details of your old and new address
- details of anyone who is moving out with you
You will also need to tell us:
- your Council Tax account number
- details of who will be taking on your old property, if you know who it is
