Discount for a second home
If you have a second home, you can apply for a second home discount of 10%.
You can apply for a discount on your second home if:
- you own or rent a furnished property
- the property isn’t where you usually live
To apply for a discount on your second home, you will need:
- your Council Tax account number
- your name, address and contact details
This discount applies until 31 March 2025.
From 1 April 2025, we will remove the 10% discount and apply a 100% Council Tax premium on most second homes. This means that the charge will be double the normal Council Tax rather than 90% of it. Your 2025/26 Council Tax bill will show the increased charge.
