National register of taxi licence refusals and revocations
When you apply for a taxi licence, we perform a number of checks before approving your application. One of the checks that we make is against the national register of taxi licence refusals and revocations (NR3). This data held on NR3 will helps us fulfil our statutory duty to make sure that a person is a fit and proper person to hold a licence.
The NR3 register contains details about every taxi licence that any authority has refused or revoked.
The details kept on the NR3 register are:
- name
- date of birth
- address
- contact details
- National Insurance Number
- driving licence number
- decision taken
- date of decision
- date decision effective
If you apply for a licence and we refuse your application, we will add your details to the NR3 register. If we revoke your licence, we will add your details to the NR3 register.
If your details match details kept on the NR3, we will contact the licensing authority that recorded the entry for further information. We will use any details we receive from that authority for that specific licence application. We will not hold the data for longer or use it for other purposes.
The NR3 register holds information for 25 years and is run by the Local Government Association (LGA).
