We do not send any text messages related to the Garden Waste Subscription scheme. If you do receive any texts about it, especially relating to payment, you should ignore them and not click on any links.
How to sign up or renew
If you have not received a garden waste collection from us before, you can still sign up for a 2025-26 subscription. However, it will expire on 28 February 2026, and you will need to renew for 2026-27. It will not renew automatically.
We are currently only accepting new subscriptions for 2025-26 by phone, on 01245 615800 (choose option 1).
Once we have received your payment for 2025-26, we will send a welcome pack, which will include a sticker to put on your garden waste bin.
Each garden waste subscription runs until 28 February every year.
When you signed up initially, you will have given us an email address. We will use that address to send you a renewal email with your options. You should check to make sure the email you receive is genuine and comes from us.
Paying by Direct Debit
If you subscribe for the service by Direct Debit (DD), your subscription will renew automatically every year. We will then take a one-off payment from your nominated bank account in mid-January each year, unless you cancel.
For the 2026-27 collection service, the payment date is on or around 15 January 2026.
You can sign up by DD until Sunday 14 December 2025.
Paying by card
If you do not want to take out a Direct Debit, or have missed the deadline, you can still subscribe to the service by making a one-off card payment. However, your subscription will not automatically renew each year.
Once you have paid, we will send you a new sticker. This will be in a different colour, to allow our collection team to easily spot out-of-date subscriptions.
You must not copy or reproduce garden waste stickers, as this is copyright infringement.
If you sign up before the end of January 2026, this will give us time to print and post out your new sticker, and you will receive an uninterrupted service. If you sign up after that, there may be some delay in your collections while we activate your subscription and print and post your sticker.
You can add more bins to your existing subscription at any time, whether you are paying by Direct Debit (DD) or card.
Direct Debit
If you are paying by DD and add bins before Wednesday 31 December 2025, we will adjust the DD amount to reflect the correct number of bins. You can also cancel or remove bins up until we take your payment.
You can cancel your DD at any time, either by contacing your bank, logging into our garden waste portal, or by contacting us. If you cancel before we take payment, we will cancel the whole subscription.
You can also cancel after we have taken payment. However, this will just mean that your subscription will expire on 28 February 2027. Your garden waste subscription will still be live until then, and you will not be able to claim a refund.
Card payments
If you are paying by card, you can only cancel or remove bins from your subscription during the 14 day cooling off period, which starts the day after you paid.
If you cancel after this, you will not be entitled to a refund.
