Grant scheme for transport poverty
Our Public Health team is offering small grants to support community-led projects that reduce transport-related barriers and improve access to essential services such as:
healthcare
employment
education
wellbeing activities
This scheme helps support residents who struggle to access services due to transport issues, as we recognise this as an important part of people's overall health and wellbeing. We aim to fund short-term preventative solutions that improve access and reduce inequalities.
Amount available
We have a total funding pot of £14,000 and each organisation can apply for up to £1,500. This is a one-off pilot scheme, so there is no guarantee of future funding, and your funded activities must take place between November 2026 and October 2027. We may offer partial funding or fund only parts of proposals.
Before you apply
Before you apply, you need to read our Grant Guidance in full. The guidance explains the scheme's objectives, who can apply, what we can and can't fund, project timescales, and how we will assess applications.
If you have queries about this grant scheme, we suggest you contact the Public Health Team before you submit your application.
Timescales
The fund is open from Tuesday 15 September and applications close at 12pm on Friday 9 October 2026.
