Women Time helps women to be more active, and gives them the chance to try a new sport in a friendly, non-competitive environment.
We have successfully secured a grant to run a range of low-cost activities in 2026, just for women.

This is a woman-only gym-based fitness session at South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre.
The sessions are aimed at beginners, and will cover all aspect of resistance training, held at a quieter time in the gym. Our friendly, level 3 gym instructor Ross has written a specific 12 week program, so you can follow along and progress at your own pace.
Women who are peri or menopausal will benefit from these sessions with the instructor having extra training in this subject area and the benefits of exercise.
- Dates: every Friday from 27 February to 29 May 26 (except 27 March and 3 April)
- Time: 7.30pm to 8.15pm
- Location: Fitness Room at South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre
- Cost: £3.00 per session, or £30 for block of 12-weeks (saving £6)

Although we will hold these sessions at a quieter time. other gym user will still be able to use the gym while these sessions are running.
With You in Mind are social activity sessions for adults to support mental wellbeing.
As part of funding through Find Your Active and On Your Team, we are launching With You in Mind sessions at South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre for women only.
These sessions include activities such as badminton, pickleball, table tennis, boards games, colouring , as well as one-off workshops such as yoga, therapy dogs or mindfulness activities.
- Dates: every Sunday from 1 March 2026 (session will run for six months)
- Time: 9.45am to 11.15am
- Location: Sports hall at South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre
- Cost: £3.00 per session

The coach for these sessions will be male and will have training in mental health first aid.
