Explore the pretty village of Writtle on various routes with this lovely circular 1.5 mile walk, suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
Various routes can be taken to explore the pretty village of Writtle on this low intensity walk, including a walk alongside fields, via the village duckpond, and through the College grounds.
This walk meets outside the Lordship Tearooms and Shop and is wheelchair and buggy friendly. Why not stay on afterwards and enjoy some cake?
Please note that, for each walk, a specific route has been agreed and risk assessed to provide the safest walking environment possible. This cannot be changed.

Essential information
- Make sure you wear comfortable, sensible shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather. Please make sure you bring sun lotion and water in the summer.
- Unfortunately, we cannot allow any dogs other than assistance animals.

Outside the Lordship Tearooms and Shop, Lordship Road, Chelmsford, CM1 3RS.
How to get there
By bus
Number 45 runs every 45 minutes from the city centre and stops outside Preston’s Garage, towards Harlow. The Regal Bus service Number 35 stops every hour at the ARU campus.
Cycle
Routes run off road to the campus/tearooms from the city centre. You can look at the Writtle cycle map.
By car
The tearooms are opposite the ARU main entrance on the A414. Please park in the Writtle nursery car park next to the Tearooms, which includes accessible spaces.
