We have already had pre-planning discussions with planning officers and their design board, to ensure the facility aligns with the vision of the adopted and emerging Local Plan.

We are now carrying out a public consultation. This is to raise awareness of the proposals and give local residents and stakeholders an opportunity to share their views.

Following the consultation, we will review all comments received before deciding whether to submit a planning application. If we do submit an application, it will be subject to our formal planning process, providing a further opportunity for public comment.

Public drop-in session

We are holding an in-person consultation session on Thursday 27 August 2026. You can visit any time from 4pm to 7pm at Keene Hall, Watchouse Road, Galleywood, CM2 8PT.

During the sessions, you can learn more about the proposals and have the chance to give your feedback.

Comment online

If you are unable to attend the in-person consultation, you can still take part by filling in our survey.

Submit your views

The survey will be open until Friday 4 September 2026.

We will share any comments or feedback you provide as part of this consultation with our appointed consultants for the purposes of developing and considering the proposed cemetery and crematorium scheme and informing any subsequent planning application. Your personal information will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy, which explains how we collect, use, store and protect your information.
