Memorials

You can visit the Cemetery from Monday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. The Cemetery is also now open to vehicles. The Crematorium buildings, Memorial Chapel, Bereavement services office and toilets remain closed. Funeral services are still taking place, however we are limiting the number of people who can attend a service. You can read more on our coronavirus guidance page.


We have a range of memorials available at the Cemetery and Crematorium.

  • Book of remembrance which features hand-crafted inscriptions for each day of the year. Book of RemembranceThe Book of Remembrance is displayed in the Memorial Chapel and features hand-craft inscriptions for each day of the year.
  • Roses with tree in background RosesYou can add a personalised plaque to dedicate a rose to a loved one at the Chelmsford Crematorium.
  • Chapel plaques with an array of flowers in front PlaquesYou can choose from four types of plaque to commemorate a loved one including: chapel plaques, kerb plaques, floris plaques and sundial memorial.
  • Columbarium with flowers in vases ColumbariumThe columbarium stands outside in the Garden of Remembrance, providing respectful storage of cremated remains.
  • Cremated remains plots (thumbnail) Cremated remains plotsCremated remains plots are available in the lawn section of the Cemetery. A headstone can be ordered through approved stonemasons.
  • Graves Grave plots and headstonesBurial plots are located in the lawn section of the Cemetery. A headstone can be ordered through approved stonemasons.
