Getting to the Cemetery and Crematorium

Due to a burst water main, we have had to turn off the water supply for some areas of the Cemetery. The remainder of the taps in the rest of the Cemetery and Garden of Remembrance are working and you can still access water in the memorial chapel. We are working to restore the water supply as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. You can view our coronavirus guidance page.

By car

If you are using a Sat Nav, you need to use CM1 3WQ, rather than the postcode for our postal address.

Our car park is only for those visiting the Crematorium and Cemetery grounds or attending a service.

We have 104 car parking spaces at our Cemetery and Crematorium, spread across two car parks. This includes eight disabled spaces. You must only use the disabled spaces if you have a Blue Badge.

You must park in the designated car park spaces, not in the roadway as this will obstruct other cars.

You might want to consider car sharing to avoid any parking problems.

By bus

The number 351 bus from the Chelmsford Bus Station stops at our Cemetery and Crematorium.

You can see the route and bus times on First Bus.

Waiting room

We have a small waiting room in the main office, for those who arrive early.

We have public toilets at the rear of the South Chapel. They include female and male facilities, as well as an accessible toilet with baby changing.

We also have female, male and accessible toilets in the North Chapel, which are available to people attending a service there. They do not include baby changing.

We do not allow dogs at our Cemetery and Crematorium.
