People with diplomatic privilege or immunity who are not British citizens
We will disregard you if you hold diplomatic privileges and immunities and are not a:
- British subject
- British citizen
- British Dependent Territories citizen
- British National (overseas) or a British Overseas citizen
- British protected person or a permanent resident in the UK
We will also disregard you if you are a spouse or civil partner of a person with diplomatic privileges and immunities.
The valid acts for diplomatic privilege or immunity are:
- Diplomatic Privileges Act 1964
- Commonwealth Secretariat Act 1996
- Consular Relations Act 1968
- Commonwealth Countries and Republic of Ireland (Immunities and Privileges) Order 1985
- a class in relation to a specific organisation in the International Organisations Act 1968
- head of an office established as described in the Hong Kong Economic Trade Act 1996
To apply as a disregarded person, you must contact us to tell us about your circumstances. This must include evidence of your privilege and immunity.
