Join us for a day of family fun and celebrate Chelmsford Market.

Mark your calendars for Saturday 26 July, as Chelmsford Market’s Family Fun Day takes over Market Square from 10am to 4pm with a great line-up of free family entertainment.

There’ll be plenty to keep the whole family entertained, including:

• a petting zoo (open from 10am to 1pm)
• face painting
• balloon modelling
• a children’s ride and soft play area (for aged two and up)

Plus, don’t miss your chance to meet Essex Cosplayers, who will be roaming Market Square dressed as popular characters. Perfect for a fun selfie!

Special guests Lenny the Lion from Chelmsford City Sports and Pops the Penguin from Riverside Leisure Centre will also be making appearances, ready for cuddles and photos with little ones.

Hosted by Chelmsford Market and Chelmsford City Council, this event is a celebration of our historic market and its vital role in the community. Chelmsford Market is proud to be the 2025 winner of the BID Awards Small/Indie Retailer of the Year.
