Family fun day

Join us for a day of free family fun at Chelmsford Market.

On Saturday 25 July, from 10am to 4pm, Chelmsford Market’s Family Fun Day will be taking over Market Square with a host of fun-filled activities.

There will be lots to keep the whole family entertained, including:

• a petting zoo

• face painting

• balloon modelling

• a children’s ride and soft play area

• an opportunity to meet our amazing emergency services

As well as all these activities, you will have the chance to meet Essex Cosplayers, who will be roaming around Market Square dressed as popular characters. It's the perfect opportunity for a quick selfie!

Hosted by Chelmsford Market and Chelmsford City Council, this event is a celebration of our historic, popular market. It plays a vital role in the community, a contribution recognised by its award as the 2025 BID Small/Indie Retailer of the Year.

Independent stallholders and food vendors continue to attract Chelmsford resident’s week after week, drawn by the high-quality, unique and distinctive products and experiences available.
