Corporate Peer Challenge
In December 2024, a Peer Review Team from the Local Government Association visited us to carry out a Corporate Peer Challenge.
Run by experienced councillor and officer ‘peers’ from across local government, the expertise and backgrounds of the review team reflect the needs and focus of the review.
The review teams tailor their challenges to meet individual councils’ needs, with a focus on improvement. The review aims to complement and add value to a council’s own performance and improvement plans.
The Peer Review Team spoke to councillors, officers, partners, and stakeholders over a period of four days. They examined how we operate and reported these findings back to our councillors and officers. Overall, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with some suggestions for improvement.
The final report set out a series of nine recommendations and we have developed and published an action plan to deliver these recommendations.
