Consultation on creation of new conservation area for North Hill, Little Baddow

As the local planning authority, we have a duty to designate areas of special character as Conservation Areas.

North Hill and the surrounding area have a distinctive character, which is of sufficient quality and historic interest to be designated as a Conservation Area. This would mean that we would take into account the special character of the area when deciding on any planning applications in the area.

So that we can clearly define what is special about the North Hill, we have prepared a character appraisal document, which sets out the area we want to designate.

The closing date for comments was Tuesday 10 June 2025.

As the consultation has now closed, we will review the document and put it forward for consideration by councillors.
