Chelmsford Indoor Retail Market

Under lockdown, only stalls selling food and other essential goods will be trading at the Retail Market and High Street market. The market will only operate until 3pm each day until further notice. You can view our coronavirus page for details of which stalls are trading.

Chelmsford Indoor Retail Market has a variety of stalls and kiosks, from clothes and fabric to vegetables and flowers.

The market is completely under cover and is open five days a week. 

Opening times

The market is open:  

  • Tuesdays, 8:30am to 4pm
  • Wednesdays, 8:30am to 4pm
  • Thursdays, 8:30am to 4pm
  • Fridays, 8:30am to 4pm
  • Saturdays, 8:30am to 5pm

The market is closed on Sundays and Mondays. It is also closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The market is located underneath the  High Chelmer short stay multistorey car park, next to the High Chelmer Shopping Centre.
