Public art consultation

We have appointed artists to develop artwork to transform the air space above Cornhill leading to Market Square, in Chelmsford city centre. You can find out how to contribute your ideas.

We started installing blue plaques in 1986 and now have nearly 40 across Chelmsford and the surrounding area. They honour famous people and events associated with the area.

We also have a number of historical information boards dotted around the area, which go into more depth about local history.

We secure public art as part of new developments, and have many interesting works, which relate to their setting, across the district.
