Main responsibilities

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for:

  • leading the council's Corporate Communications team
  • managing the council's press office, including media relations, news releases, press enquiries, interview requests and public statements on behalf of the council
  • designing, supporting and promoting public campaigns and consultations
  • working with HR and the Chief Executive's Office on internal communication within the council, so that information is shared across council departments
