Business details

As food business operator, you can request a re-inspection to try and receive an improved food hygiene rating.

You can do this at any time after your food hygiene inspection.

However, a new inspection does not necessarily mean a new score. Your score could go down as well as up, or could stay the same.

If you want to request a re-inspection, you will need to:

  • be sure you have carried out all the work we requested at the original inspection
  • complete the form, including any evidence of the improvements you have made
  • pay a £200 fee

We will then:

  • contact you to take payment
  • assess your application
  • carry out an unannounced inspection within three months
  • provide you with a new food hygiene rating score, based on the level of compliance we find during the inspection
