The applicant has appealed against our decision to refuse planning permission for:

"Residential development comprising the construction of 55 affordable homes, provision of open space, landscaping, sustainable drainage, ground re-profiling, formation of bund, cycle and footpath links, vehicular access from Chelmer Village Way and highway changes to Chelmer Village Way.”

Appeal process

A planning inspector will consider the appeal using the public inquiry procedure. The inquiry is due to open at 10am on Tuesday 21 October 2025 and to resume on subsequent sitting days at 9:30am.

It will be an in-person event held in the Council Chamber. We also intend to live-stream the event. You can find links  to each session on our YouTube channel.

The event is currently programmed to sit until Thursday 6 November 2025. Friday 7 November 2025 and the week commencing 10 November 2025 are held as reserve days.

Following the inquiry, the appointed Planning Inspector will make a decision on the appeal in due course.
