Poll cards are sent out once the notice of election is published, therefore anyone that is registered and entitled to vote in these polls can expect to receive their poll card around 30th March. Unless they are registered anonymously, they do not need to take their poll card with them in order to cast their vote.

Electors receive a different poll card based on their voting method, which will communicate the details of how they can cast their vote e.g. where their polling station is or when/where their postal vote will be sent.

Poll card design

As we have a new print supplier this year, our poll cards will look slightly different. The content of the poll cards are the same, and they are legally compliant, but the formatting has changed.

You can view a sample poll card.

Our communications campaign will prepare voters for this and help reassure them that they are legitimate documents, if they are concerned.

Polling station changes

The only polling station venue that has changed for this year is in South Woodham Ferrers.

Due to the closure of the Chetwood Centre, residents in this area will now vote at Collingwood Primary School.

In addition to this, due to the minor boundary changes, residents in The Lofts will now vote at Essex Boys and Girls Club, which is nearer and more convenient.

Residents that aren't registered to vote yet

If you meet anyone that is not registered to vote yet, please encourage them to do so. The quickest way to register is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote (they must register before midnight on Monday 20th April to vote in these polls).
