Key dates
There are lots of key dates and deadlines for you to remember for these elections so we have created an overview of the important milestones that you don't want to forget.
- Friday 27th March: Notice of Election published
- Monday 30th March onwards: Delivery of poll cards
- Friday 10th April: Confirmation of the candidates standing
- Thursday 16th April onwards: Delivery of existing postal votes
- Monday 20th April (midnight): Deadline to register to vote
- Tuesday 21st April (5pm): Deadline to apply for postal vote, cancel or change existing postal vote
- Tuesday 28th April (5pm): Deadline to apply for Voter Authority Certificates
- Tuesday 28th April (5pm): Deadline to apply for a proxy vote or cancel an existing proxy vote
- Thursday 7th May (5pm): Deadline to apply for an emergency proxy
- Thursday 7th May: Polling day
- Friday 8th May (early morning): Count and declaration of results
- Friday 27th March: Notice of Election published
- Thursday 9th April (4pm): Deadline for nominations
- Friday 10th April: Publication of statement of persons nominated and election agents
- Start of postal vote opening sessions: Tuesday 21st April
- Wednesday 29th April: Deadline to appoint polling or count agents
- Friday 12th June: Deadline for the return of candidate expenses
