Kes Gray: Member's Author Talk and Book Signing
6 December
A family-friendly exhibition that shows the creative works by Moulsham students, inspired by bestselling children’s author, Kes Gray.
Taking inspiration from ex-pupil, author Kes Gray, students from both Moulsham Juniors and Moulsham Infants School have responded to his playful and imaginative stories with creations of their own. From short stories to brilliant drawings, their work encourages us all to take a moment to be creative and look for the inspiration around us.
Earlier this year, Kes took a trip down memory lane and revisited his old schools, talking to students about his memories of childhood and growing up in Chelmsford. Keen readers will have noticed that many of his books are dedicated to people and places from his home town, which has influenced and inspired so many of his stories.
What sparks the imagination in Moulsham? Discover that in the Our Chelmsford gallery where this work will be on display until 25 January 2026. In conjunction with Museum of Chelmsford’s current exhibition Oi Chelmsford! Kes Gray: Chelmsford Born and Read, 29 November 2025 to 21 June 2026.
