Summer Holidays: Romans in Chelmsford

Sessions are on Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 July and Tuesday 29 to Thursday 31 July.

Discover the Romans of Chelmsford with our History Hero Maximus. Did you know they built a Mansio in Moulsham Street? Create your own Roman mosaic and Roman coins, learn your numerals with Roman numeral bingo and handle some genuine Roman artifacts from our collection.

Activities are suitable for ages over 6 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult, who can attend for free, including entry to the museum.

Prices are staying the same as last summer! Museum members still pay just £5 per child when booked in advance (before 10am on the day).

Admission: One free adult per child/attendee, additional adults pay the museum admission fee of £4 unless they hold a membership.

Parking: Parking at the museum is free for up to 2 hours. Attendees of paid 2-hour holiday events can collect an additional 1-hour parking permit from the front desk.
