Join artist Jennifer Flint for a half day creative workshop exploring the art of reduction linocut printing. Perfect for beginners and improvers alike, this session will guide you through the process of planning, carving, and printing a multi-layer design using the reduction method - where each layer of ink is printed from the same block, gradually carved away between each colour.

As part of the day, participants will also have the unique opportunity to view selected prints by Edward Bawden from the Museum of Chelmsford’s collection. These works will offer inspiration and insight into colour layering, composition, and Bawden’s masterful approach to printing.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Plan a simple multi-layer design
  • Safely and effectively cut your lino block
  • Mix and apply inks
  • Register prints for accurate layering

By the end of the day, you’ll have created your own small edition of prints and gained the skills and confidence to continue working independently with this rewarding technique.

All materials are provided. Just bring your creative energy! Suitable for ages 16 years and over. Museum admission is included with your ticket.
