Found an object in your attic, on the beach or a field? Pop into the Museum and meet with our team to try and uncover its history.

We'll have our team available to look at social history; geologists who enjoy identifying rocks, minerals, crystals, pebbles and fossils from Essex and beyond; and the Finds Liaison Officer for Essex to look at archaeological objects to be recorded on the British Museum’s Portable Antiquities Scheme database (booked separately, click here to book).

Bring an object to be identified for free admission to the Museum and this event.

There is no queue system for this day except for appointments with the Finds Liaison Officer, it will be on a first come first serve basis.
