Family Poetry Workshop

This event is part of Always Proud an outreach project by Essex Pride.

The aim of this workshop is to support in the creation of content for Behind the Rainbow an exhibition to tell LGBTQAI+ stories through their eyes and voices. Co-created with Chelmsford Museum.

Ian Eagleton's debut picture book Nen and the Lonely Fisherman won the Polari Prize for Best Children’s Book. He has just released his debut middle grade book Glitter Boy, which explores the impact of homophobic bullying on a young boy.

The workshop will involve some readings of Ian’s inclusive books and then time to write poetry together, inspired by his books .

The workshop is aimed at children and teenagers aged 8 and over. Parents and guardians are encouraged to come along as well and enjoy writing alongside their children.

This workshop is free and there are only 20 spaces available, so if you book and you can't attend, please free the space for someone to take your place.
