Join us in the brand new cafe at Chelmsford Museum!
The Hive can be found in the stunning Victorian House, situated in Oakland’s Park. The café has been built into the house’s original drawing room where the sunshine floods in through floor to ceiling windows throughout the day, allowing for breathtaking views of the surrounding park and Rose Gardens. This has all been made possible by the HLF funding of our redevelopment project.
The Hive offers an extensive menu with a home-made feel and prides itself on serving fresh, tasty and locally sourced food. We will welcome customers for coffee and pastries from 7am, and full breakfasts and a range of options served all day from 8am.
Children are welcome at The Hive. Our menu offers a selection of options for the little ones, and we have been working alongside the Museum to provide activities sheets to keep them entertained throughout your stay!
With a special section of our menu for our veggie & vegan friends, The Hive welcomes all, and hopes to become a home away from home for our guests.
Sustainability is hugely important to us and ensuring that we are ‘doing our part’ is key. The Hive has chosen to offer biodegradable and compostable packaging where possible, ensuring that when you takeaway from The Hive, that you are doing so safe in the knowledge that you are being kind to our planet!
