Chelmsford has launched its first Cultural Education Partnership. These partnerships are an initiative of Arts Council England and the Department for Education. It encourages the improvement of cultural education for children and young people in their local area.

By joining up schools with cultural organisations and businesses, they create a growing movement for more and better cultural education across the country.

The Chelmsford partnership has three main goals:

1. Children and young people have a clear role in shaping Chelmsford’s cultural identity
2. A sustainable and accessible provision of creative and cultural opportunities for children and young people
3. Creativity and culture at the heart of the futures of our children and young people
