Enter the Chelmsford City Council Buzz in the City Prize Draw
We’re delighted to be sponsoring a beautiful bee sculpture that has been placed in Oaklands Park, close to the Museum of Chelmsford!
The bee is one of 30 giant bee sculptures and six mini bee swarm sculptures that have arrived in Chelmsford this summer as part of a brand-new city centre trail that’s available to explore now. Each giant bee along the route has been uniquely designed by talented artists, while the mini bees have been decorated by local schools and community groups.
Created by Farleigh Hospice, Buzz in the City aims to raise much-needed funds for the charity to provide critical hospice care and support to families in mid Essex impacted by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement.
Our bee has been designed by artist Diana Mayo, who also has a piece of her art on display in the museum’s Shifting Perspectives exhibition. The exhibition was made in partnership with people living with dementia and their companions and runs until 2 November. Find out more here.

In order to enter, you will need to fill out the form with your email address and agree to sign up to our City News and Museum of Chelmsford mailing lists. These newsletters are full of interesting news and updates from our services, and benefit everyone visiting the city and its venues from Chelmsford and beyond.
Once we have collated the entries, we will select three winners. Winners of this prize draw will receive a selection of goodies from across our city council services.

- Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-transferable
- The prize draw will be drawn on a date after the end of the Buzz in the City trail (ends 9 September 2025) and not before.
- Please note that all prizes contain a jar of locally sourced honey from Chelmsford Beekeepers Association. For allergen information, please check the label before consuming.
