Fair Processing Notices

We have a duty to protect the public funds that we administer. To fulfil this duty, we share data with other public bodies in order to detect and prevent fraud.

 

The National Fraud Initiative

We share data with the Cabinet Office to support the National Fraud Initiative. The Cabinet Office is responsible for carrying out data matching exercises under this Fair Processing Notice.

The data we share includes:   

  • employee payroll and pensions  
  • trade creditors   
  • Housing Benefit claims    
  • Council Tax records    
  • the electoral register    
  • licences

 

Council Tax

We manage our own data matching exercise to review our Council Tax discounts, focusing on single person discounts and empty properties.
