General Information about Chelmsford City Theatres

Accessing your account

Returning customers can access their account, check on all purchased tickets and access any remaining credits. You can:

Sign up or create an account

Our ticketing system changed from November 2020. If you have not purchased tickets since this date, you will need to create an account. You must then select the 'sign up' option.

Here, you will be asked for your first and last name, and your email address. If you already have a credit with us, please ensure that you use the correct name and email address that you previously stated when last booking with us. Once logged in, you will see on the login homepage if you have any active credits. If you believe you should have a credit but it is not showing, you can contact us.

Box Office opening times

The Box Office is currently open from Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 6pm, and one hour before show start times on all other days.

If you need assistance with your booking, require a wheelchair space or need help with the Essential Companion scheme you can contact us.

Running times

Some shows give an approximate running time and when available this can be found on the show page. All films have running times but this does not include live performance trailers or late starts. Running times are given as a rough guide but due to the nature of live performance they cannot always be accurate.

General admission

General Admission refers to areas that are not assigned or reserved, and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. When purchasing tickets for a General Admission event, you may be quoted row and seat numbers, however these are for inventory purposes only and do not reflect any actual seating location.

Programme of events

At times it is necessary to make changes to the published programme. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

We do not allow photography in the majority of shows, especially for professional shows, however there are a few occasions when it is allowed and this will be advised as part of the show. If you are seen to be taking unauthorised photography you will be asked by the Duty Manager to stop.

Seating plans

If you would like to view the seating plans of the Civic Theatre and Cramphorn Studio please view the following PDFs. Please note, on some performances the seating plans may vary.

Our theatre bars are open from one hour prior to the performance start time, and during the interval with a range of drinks and snacks.

Booster seats

Booster seats are loaned free of charge during events for young children. Availability is limited, so we advise patrons to bring a cushion/seat where possible to avoid disappointment.
