More than 300 people packed into Chelmsford Cathedral last week for the popular free Information Day for the over 55s. The event was opened by the Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Duncan Lumley, and his wife, Edna.
Chelmsford City Council would like to thank this year’s key sponsors, Birkett Long, who attended this year’s event and gave a presentation on Wills and Powers of Attorney, which was greatly received by attendees.
A number of organisations also gave useful, interesting presentations on topics including an overview on everyday first aid as well as information about local support services. Guests took a break from listening to browse information stalls and put their questions to experts, including representatives from Age UK Essex, Homecare Options, adult education providers and many more.
The Council would like to thank all those who attended and supported this event, especially the Cathedral, partner agencies and staff. Attendees enjoyed a packed lunch at the end of the day with water and snacks kindly provided by Sainsbury’s.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and suggestions received will help to make next year’s event even better.
