Chelmsford City Council

Join us for the Spring River Clean-Up

To show our ongoing commitment to looking after our beautiful city we are joining Keep Britain Tidy's Great British Spring Clean campaign.

We are inviting all residents to come along to our Spring River Clean-Up on Saturday 23 March 2019. We will be meeting at Baddow Road Car Park, CM2 7PJ from 9.00 am where there will be free parking available as well as free refreshments. The event finishes at around 1.00 pm

We hope to see lots of enthusiastic volunteers ready to get stuck in - not only is the litter pick helping make a big difference to the local environment but it is also inspiring others and helping us to raise awareness of the problems litter can cause.

All equipment will be provided however we ask volunteers to wear sturdy footwear and suitable clothing. Everyone is welcome but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Whether you can help all morning or just for an hour, any help will be much appreciated and will really make a difference.

We are also encouraging schools to join in by taking part in the Great Big School Clean. The Council can lend out litterpicks, gloves, hi-vis vests and bags and our friendly officers even come along to schools to talk to the children about littering and the problems it causes. If your school wants to get involved, please email us at lyc@chelmsford.gov.uk.

The Council runs environmental events all year round through the Love Your Chelmsford programme. For more information visit www.facebook.com/LoveYourChelmsford and to keep up to date with the latest events follow @LoveYourChelmsford on Facebook.
