Businesses flocking to 10th Chelmsford Showcase

Chelmsford City Showcase for Business, organised by Chelmsford City Council, will be holding its tenth event on Wednesday 14 November at Hylands House.

The Chelmsford Showcase for Business is an important event in the Chelmsford business calendar and aims to provide free support and advice, as well as a networking opportunity for local entrepreneurs.

The event starts at 9am with the Chelmsford Business Board Annual Briefing, which will provide an update on current developments and initiatives, plus an overview of future ambitions. Councillor Yvonne Spence, Mayor of Chelmsford, will officially open the event at 10am.

Throughout the day, attendees will be able to visit over 50 trade stands and take part in seminars, with the opportunity to raise their questions to experts.

Seminars this year will cover vital topics on branding identity and marketing, along with a real-life example of developing a growing business and operating in the Chelmsford district.

This tenth Showcase continues to celebrate the success of Chelmsford as a business location, working with Chelmsford Star Co-operative, who will bring along exhibitors from their 'Made in Essex' campaign, and Invest Essex, who continue to support businesses in the district.

Councillor Neil Gulliver, Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development, said, "Essex is fortunate to have an extremely strong local economy, thanks to the talent, spirit, creativity and hard work of the many people who do business here. Over the past ten years, the Chelmsford City Showcase for Business has become a key fixture in the business calendar, bringing the passion and expertise of hundreds of attendees together to create new opportunities and share knowledge."

Stewart Linehan, Chelmsford Star's Food Trading Manager, says, "Through Chelmsford Star's commitment to Essex producers, our members and customers can be confident that when they buy local produce they are supporting the Essex economy. We are pleased to be supporting this event and raising the profile of the Made In Essex initiative."

There will also be dedicated areas for finding out about current funding opportunities covering innovation, consultancy and the purchase of capital items, along with information on Apprenticeships, especially for employers who do not pay into the levy.

Plus, all delegates will have the chance to receive a free headshot from a professional photographer, which they can take away in digital format to use as they wish!

Attracting local businesses and those from surrounding areas, the event is open to all sizes of company and is not to be missed.
