This year, Chelmsford’s Jobs & Skills Fair is being virtually showcased for the first time ever. Attendees are invited to book their place at the interactive online fair taking place on Wednesday 16 September between 10am and 2pm: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/celsius-chelmsford-jobs-skills-fair-2020-tickets-117010402263.
The fair will be set out with exhibition stands, and people will be able to talk to exhibitors and other attendees remotely using their web cams just like they would do in person. The event will be hosted using the online platform Remo and attendees who register online will be emailed joining instructions prior to the event.
The interactive fair welcomes everyone of working age to access jobs, explore skills opportunities, get career guidance and talk directly to employers. Coronavirus has caused difficult times for many Chelmsford residents over the past months, making the Jobs & Skills Fair a prime opportunity to take advantage of the hundreds of jobs and training prospects on offer.
Whether people are looking for full-time or part-time positions, some of the biggest employers in the city will be on hand at the event to discuss career ambitions and the roles they have available. Sectors will range from healthcare to logistics, retail to manufacturing, construction to hospitality, and more.
The Jobs & Skills Fair is arranged in partnership by Chelmsford City Council, Chelmsford College, the Department for Work and Pensions, and Networking Essex. It is brought to you by Celsius (Chelmsford Education, Learning, Skills, and Staffing Group) - a partnership which promotes skills development and employment in the area.
Councillor Simon Goldman, Cabinet Deputy for the Economy and Small Business, said, "This event is particularly timely given the current rise in unemployment in Chelmsford due to the pandemic. The events industry has been hit hard too, with large face-to-face gatherings unable to take place. Moving the Jobs & Skills Fair online is an innovative step to ensure we can still provide the same opportunities interactively”.
“There are still plenty of job prospects to be found in Chelmsford, despite the recession, and this virtual event will offer support and insight into career opportunities for our residents. The fair is for everyone, from school and college leavers looking for their first job, to people considering a career change and needing direction, and all those in between. There are hundreds of opportunities available and we’d be glad to welcome people along and provide a helping hand.”
Book your place via Eventbrite and join the virtual event online on 16 September: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/celsius-chelmsford-jobs-skills-fair-2020-tickets-117010402263.
