Site Inspection App to help with building projects

Residents and builders in Chelmsford can make use of a smart phone app which can help with construction projects.

The free LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Site Inspection App offers residents and builders the option to book inspections through Chelmsford Building Control Consultancy, a not-for-profit body operated by Chelmsford City Council, via their smart phone or tablet at a time convenient to them.

Following installation of the app the user will only need to enter their contact details once. From then on they will only be required to enter details relating to the requested inspection, after which an email is automatically sent to Chelmsford City Council’s Building Control Consultancy Team. An acknowledgement response will reassure them that the request has got through safely.

Chelmsford City Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development, Councillor Neil Gulliver, said “We are always looking for ways to make our services more accessible. This app helps to streamline the booking process, as well as making it easier to stick to building deadlines by allowing people to book their inspection whilst on site or on the move.”
