Photo competition

Orange light trails in the darkness

The City Photo Competition returns this summer, celebrating the city of Chelmsford and its surrounding villages.

We are looking for your images captured within the boundaries of Chelmsford, from South Woodham Ferrers to Great Leighs. You could be in with the chance to win some great prizes.

Open to novice and amateur photographers, this year’s categories are:

  • Natural Chelmsford
  • Creative Chelmsford
  • Urban Chelmsford
  • Chelmsford in Black and White

If you are under 16, you can enter any of the above categories. We will judge these entries separately and announce a special under 16s winner.

The competition opens on Monday 1 June, but you can enter any photo captured from 1 September 2019, so time to get snapping.

Last year's winners

The City Photo Competition 2019 overall winner was Filming Light Trails by James Di Cicco (above). We displayed the shortlisted and winning photos at a special exhibition at the Meadows Shopping Centre in October.
