Stewards and crew
Apply to be a steward
We usually recruit stewards and crew in the spring, ready for our festival season from June to August.
Volunteers
Apply to be volunteer
We hope that you’re enthusiastic, hands on and keen to get involved. In return, we’ll ensure a worthwhile experience with a dedicated team. There is also free tea and coffee, and free entry to the event you’re working at (where applicable).
Volunteer applications for our 2020 events programme are now open, so you can apply now.
Your involvement
We’ll want to get to know you before the event takes place, so we will invite you for a chat with one of the team. This will also give you a chance to ask any questions you might have.
From here, we’ll keep in contact with you to confirm days and hours that you’re available.
Roles
Information point staff
In this role, you would be dealing with our festival-goer enquiries, such as timing of performances and locations, as well as overseeing lost property items.
Recycling and waste
This role includes keeping our site spic and span, something we try to be extra good at.
Welcoming guests
As part of this role, you could be:
- the first friendly face for our guests, welcoming them to the event and possibly VIP areas
- helping our festival goers off the bus and directing them to the festival entrance
- assisting with any enquiries they might have
Stage hand
Some of our performers like a bit of extra help, so this role can include sweeping of the stage in between performances and attending to backstage areas.
Production support
Sometimes, the team could use an extra pair of hands when it comes to guestlists and production running.
These are examples of some of the roles we may ask you to assist with. Our events can be very different and therefore roles can vary. Also, the roles depend on you and what you are keen to be involved in. If you have desired skills you think we’d benefit from, do let us know in your application.
What you’ll receive in return
Our friendly, organised team can provide a great space to learn and develop skills and gain valuable experience. Expect tea, coffee and refreshments, and depending on your hours, we’re able to provide a meal voucher. If we’re pleased with your experience with us, we’re happy to provide references for future positions.
Travel expenses
Sadly, we’re unable to pay travel expenses, but some of our events accommodate for free parking if you drive.
Interviews
We don’t hold formal interviews for these volunteer roles. Instead, think of it as more of a friendly chat. We just want to get to know you, and hope that you want to get to know us too.
Age restrictions
You can volunteer with us if you are 16 or over. The only exception to this is Fling festival, which is strictly over 18s only.
Our events can be very different so if you have any queries, you can contact us.
