Attending Fling Festival

Date and time

Saturday 6 July 2019 from 12 noon until 11pm.

Fling Festival takes place in Hylands Park and customers should access the Park at the Writtle end of the park via Greenbury Way, CM2 8FS. The entrance to the festival is next to the customer car park.

By car

Hylands Park is situated three miles outside of Chelmsford city centre.

You can access the festival via the park entrance, which is off the A414 Writtle entrance on Greenbury Way, CM2 8FS (towards Harlow, not the House entrance). You should follow the Festival road signs.

You must buy car parking tickets in advance, which cost £5.50 per car.

The Festival car park is adjacent to the Festival entrance. Please present your car park ticket to the car park steward upon arrival.

Taxis and drop-off

There will be a designated drop-off/pick-up point and taxi route to exit the park. You should ask your driver to follow the signs.

The post code for Sat Nav is CM2 8FS and all vehicles should enter Hylands Park via the Writtle end (Greenbury Way).

By bus

We are providing a dedicated shuttle bus service to the Festival throughout the day.

Buses will run at regular intervals from 11:30am until 11:15pm. You can catch the bus from Coval Lane, Chelmsford, CM1 1TD.

You must buy tickets for the shuttle bus in advance at £6.50 return.

You may have a short wait and there will be some walking involved when using the bus service.

By bike or on foot

You can visit the Hylands website for more detailed travel information. Fling Festival is located at the Writtle end of the park, CM2 8FS.

Food and drink

As part of our license, you can’t bring any alcohol on to the site. However, you can buy alcohol at the Fling from the multiple cafés and bars on site. You can also buy hot and cold refreshments.

If you are a VIP ticket holder, you will also have access to a private bar.

As part of our commitment to run a greener festival, we will be providing water points, so you can refill plastic bottles and reduce waste.

To keep Hylands Park safe for all users, you can’t bring any glass to the festival. You can check our prohibited items list for full details of what you can and can't bring to the festival.

There will be toilets within the event site, including accessible toilets.

If you are a VIP ticket holder, you will be able to use luxury toilets.

A greener festival

We run a reusable cup deposit scheme. When you arrive, you will need to go to the main bar to purchase your cup.

We are very keen on making the festival greener, so bear this in mind when deciding what to bring. If it can’t be recycled, don’t leave it on site. We will be providing recycling facilities.

Hylands Park is predominantly grassland. Whilst we make every effort to provide accessible facilities, the service is limited by safety factors and the nature of the site.
