Creche at Riverside

Our fantastic crèche offers child care for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.

With qualified staff and OFSTED registration, you can enjoy your exercise at Riverside, knowing that your child is being well looked after.

Our crèche offers everything you need to keep your little one active while you enjoy your workout!

Each session is 30 minutes long, and you can book multiple sessions for up to a total of two hours.

Before you use the crèche, you are welcome to visit and speak to our staff, or for more detailed information, please read our creche welcome information.

Riverside is a Breastfeeding Welcome centre. Please speak to one of our team for more information.

Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm (including school holidays)
The Creche is closed on bank holidays

ourChelmsford Lite card: £4.10 per 30 minute session
ourChelmsford Plus card: £3.10 per 30 minute session

Wellness monthly members

One hour per day of free crèche sessions for one child. Sessions must be booked on the parent's monthly membership card. Additional sessions and children must be paid for.

Booking and using the creche

Booking a crèche place

you can book online or call 01245 615050.
you can book in person when you visit Riverside reception.
if you are a monthly member, you can log in using your card to book up to 10 days in advance.
if you are an ourChelmsford Plus cardholder, you can log in using your child's card to book to 7 days in advance.
if you are an ourChelmsford Lite cardholder, you can log in using your child's card to book up to 2 days in advance.
each bookable slot is 30 minutes, so two slots will need to be booked for an hour.

You can't book a place at any of our kiosks.

Using the creche

On arrival, please go straight to the creche, unless you're a monthly member who has booked over 60 minutes.

If you have booked over 60 minutes, please collect a ticket from Riverside reception. For safety purposes you'll need to collect a ticket even if you receive free crèche sessions.

Please hand your ticket in to crèche staff when you arrive at the crèche.

Cancellation

If you no longer need to use the crèche, please cancel at least two hours before the session starts, to avoid being charged.

Unfortunately, you can't cancel online.

Essential information

Crèche sessions last 30 minutes, starting on the hour and at half past the hour.
You must stay on site while your child is at the crèche.
If your child has a bad cold, sickness or diarrhoea, please don't bring them to the crèche. If your child becomes ill, we'll contact you and you'll need to collect them immediately.
Please bring extra nappies, wipes and a change of clothes for your child. We don't provide drinks and snacks, but you can bring your own for your child.
Your child needs to have an ourChelmsford card to use the crèche.

Late collection

If you think you'll be late picking up your child, please call us on 01245 615050 or 07554 525336
If a new session has started when you pick them up, you'll need to pay for the additional 30 minutes. We'll add the payment to your membership card, and you'll need to clear this charge within seven days of the crèche session before you can make another booking.
