Over 65 resident swim scheme

You can enjoy the pools at Riverside Leisure Centre or South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre (SWFLC).

With the over 65's resident swimming scheme, you can swim at one of our swimming pools at Riverside Leisure Centre or South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre.

The scheme is open to anyone who is both:
  • a resident of the Chelmsford area. This is any home that pays council tax to Chelmsford City Council
  • 65 years of age or older 


 £10 per year.

You will also need to apply for an ourChelmsford Plus card, which costs £12 per year. 



Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm


Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 8.45am and 12pm to 2pm

You can only use the over 65 swim resident scheme card during public swimming sessions at Riverside and SWFLC. Please see the timetables for the public sessions at Riverside and SWFLC

Public sessions do not include Family Fun, Inspired by Disney or Musical Splash.

What you need to do

  • You can enrol on the scheme at either Riverside or SWFLC.
  • You will need to provide proof of age such as a driving license or passport.
  • You will need to provide proof that you live in the Chelmsford area, such as a utility bill or driving license.
