Over 65 resident swim scheme

You can enjoy the pools at Riverside Leisure Centre or South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre (SWFLC).

With the over 65's resident swimming scheme, you can swim at one of our swimming pools at Riverside Leisure Centre or South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre.

The scheme is open to anyone who is both:
  • a resident of the Chelmsford area. This is any home that pays council tax to Chelmsford City Council
  • 65 years of age or older 


Price

£10 per year.

You will also need to apply for an ourChelmsford Plus card, which costs £13 per year. 


Times

Riverside

Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm


SWFLC

Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 8.45am and 12pm to 2pm

You can only use the over 65 swim resident scheme card during public swimming sessions at Riverside and SWFLC. Please see the timetables for the public sessions at Riverside and SWFLC

Public sessions do not include Family Fun, Inspired by Disney or Musical Splash.


Enrolling on the over 65 swim scheme

  • You can enrol on the scheme at either Riverside or SWFLC.
  • You will need to provide proof of age such as a driving license or passport.
  • You will need to provide proof that you live in the Chelmsford area, such as a utility bill or driving license.


Booking swimming sessions

At Riverside

  • You cannot book in advance for sessions between 9am and 2pm. 
  • Each individual customer must have their own ourChelmsford account to check into a session on the door.
