Each of our leisure centres, Riverside Leisure Centre, Chelmsford Sport and Athletics Centre (CSAC), South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre (SWFLC) and Dovedale Sports Centre has a gym to suit you.

Gym at SWFLC

Come to our gym at SWFLC and use a range of equipment with the support of our friendly and qualified gym instructors.

No matter what your exercise goals are, our 30 station gym has everything you need.

If you want some one-to-one help in the gym, you can also book personal training sessions.

You can also find out about our GP referral scheme.

Our gym is open to those aged 16 years and over.

Induction

Before you use our gym, you will have an induction with one of our fitness instructors so that we can help you achieve your fitness goals.

During the induction you will discuss your goals, learn how to use the equipment safely and effectively, and get a personalised exercise programme.

Our instructors are on hand every time you come to use the gym, to answer any questions, or update your programme.

Things you need to know

Use of Riverside and CSAC

At SWFLC you do not need to use a Technogym key. If you want to use the gym at Riverside or CSAC, you will be required to buy a key which allows you to use the equipment with your programme. This costs £11.50.

Booking

Once you have had your induction, you do not need to book in advance to attend the gym.
You can get your ticket at reception on your arrival.

Lockers and changing rooms

If you want to use a locker, you will need a £1 coin to release the key. You will get the £1 back when you return the key. Lockers are located in the gym.
There is a male group changing area and a female group changing area.
Accessible changing is available on poolside at all times, or near to the gym after 6pm.
