Core group exercise classes at Riverside Leisure Centre will tone and strengthen your abs, back and bum, improving your posture and helping with back pain.

Our instructors will guide beginners and challenge experienced class-goers.
Core
Our Core group exercise class is 30 minutes of exercises that will strengthen the muscles around your abs, back and bum.
Not only will you tighten that six pack, but you will also help to ease back pain, and improve posture.
We will provide all equipment used in the class for you, but if you would like to bring your own mat feel free.
This is a 30-minute class and is a medium intensity session.
CX Worx
If you want a quick group exercise class where you can strengthen the muscles around your abs, back and bum, then CX WORX from Les Mills is perfect.
You will use weights and resistance tubes, and also do exercises such as crunches and planks to build up that core strength.
This class can challenge you, but if you are a beginner, each move comes with an easier option.
We will provide all equipment used in the class for you, but if you would like to bring your own mat feel free.
This is a 30-minute class and is a medium intensity session.

Pilates
Pilates will give you a healthy body and a healthy mind. It is a body conditioning class that will sculpt your muscles, improve your posture and flexibility and reduce stress levels.
If you are looking to tone up, in a low impact, relaxing environment, this is the class for you.
We will provide all equipment used in the class for you, but if you would like to bring your own mat feel free.
This is session lasts for 60 minutes and is a medium intensity workout.

Our exercise classes are very popular, we advise booking in advance.
You can:
- book online or via the app with an ourChelmsford card
- book by calling 01245 615050
- book when you visit Riverside
You can book onto classes:
- ten days in advance if you have a monthly membership
- seven days in advance if you have an ourChelmsford Plus card
- two days in advance if you have an ourChelmsford Lite card
- You will need to book a session in advance to guarantee your space.
- If you do not check-in, we will charge you the full amount for the session.
- Please make sure that you have registered your email address with us in order to book online.
- If you can't attend a class that you have booked onto, you must cancel at least two hours before it starts.
- You can cancel online or via the app, by calling 01245 615050 or in person.
- We will charge you the full amount for the class if you do not cancel in time, or if you do not attend.
- You will need to collect a ticket from reception when you arrive for your class.
- Monthly members can swipe through the barrier and register their attendance.
- You will not be allowed entrance to any class if it has already started.
- To allow time for changeovers, classes will finish five minutes before the advertised time.
- If you want to use a locker on poolside, you will need a £1 coin to release the key. You will get the £1 back when you return the key.
- There is a male group changing area and a female group changing area located on poolside.
- Accessible changing facilities are located on poolside.

The pools complex, including the changing area is a shoe-free zone, this includes the removal of flip flops.
