Arena

Arena is an intense, 30 minute class run by our Gym team. It will push you to the limit and provide you with fast and long-lasting results.

A mixture of strength, cardio and core moves will help you achieve your fitness goals while giving you a fun workout.

This is a 30-minute class and is a medium intensity session.

Arena box fit

Arena box fit is a short version of our popular Box Fit class. It is run for 30 minutes in our gym. You will be in a small group and use pads  and gloves to get your heart rate up and your energy out!

Body attack

If you want to train like a pro, Body Attack from Les Mills delivers a high energy, calorie burning group exercise class.   

You will combine athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping, with strength exercises for a challenging workout to a motivating soundtrack.

This session is run as either a 45-minute or a 60-minute class and is a high intensity workout.

Body combat

Kick and punch your way to fitness with this high energy martial arts inspired class from Les Mills.  

There’s no contact and no tricky moves to master. This class is perfect to relieve a little stress and have fun.

Bodystep

Bodystep will tone your bum and thighs. You will do basic stepping, along with exercises like burpees, push-ups and weight plate exercises.

This session lasts for 45 minutes and is a medium intensity class.

Box fit

Hit the pads and break a sweat with this boxing inspired workout. Ideal for all levels looking for a challenging alternative cardio workout.

Combining boxing moves with invigorating aerobic exercise to get a great all-over workout in a safe, non-competitive environment.

This class is run as a 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute session and is a medium intensity workout.

Grit and core

Les Mills GRIT and core classes are one of the fastest ways of getting fit, strong and toned.  

You will do a quick warm-up which will get you ready for the high intensity interval training that follows. You will work hard for a short burst, then recover, before going again.  

Our instructors will work with you, will push you and motivate you to achieve your best results.

These classes will focus on strength, cardio or plyometric (jump) training.

This session lasts for 45 minutes and is a high intensity class.

Konga

If you want a high intensity class which is easy to follow, then Kong is for you. This class fuses boxing, cardio, dance and sculpting. You will squat burpee, shimmy and sprint your way to fitness in this class. 

This is a 45-minute session and his a medium intensity class.

Legs, bums and tums

As the name suggest this class features a number of exercises that will target your stomach and lower body.  

The aim of the class is to tone, tighten and energise your muscles. You can achieve great results with the help of your friendly instructor.

This is a 60-minute session and is a medium intensity class.

Riverside run

Join our weekly running club and learn how to stretch and warm up efficiently before a run and how to cool down after, as well as strengthen your core muscles, keep yourself motivated and improve your overall fitness.

The route takes you along the River Chelmer and will reach up to 5km. These sessions are designed for all abilities, from beginners to advanced runners.

Sessions typically last 60 minutes depending on the route.

Our exercise classes are very popular, we advise booking in advance. 

You can:  

You can book onto classes: 

  • ten days in advance if you have a monthly membership  
  • seven days in advance if you have an ourChelmsford Plus card     
  • two days in advance if you have an ourChelmsford Lite card
  • You will need to book a session in advance to guarantee your space.
  • If you do not check-in, we will charge you the full amount for the session.
  • Please make sure that you have registered your email address with us in order to book online.
  • If you can't attend a class that you have booked onto, you must cancel at least two hours before it starts.
  • You can cancel online or via the app, by calling 01245 615050 or in person. 
  • We will charge you the full amount for the class if you do not cancel in time, or if you do not attend.
  • You will need to collect a ticket from reception when you arrive for your class.  
  • Monthly members can swipe through the barrier and register their attendance. 
  • You will not be allowed entrance to any class if it has already started.  
  • To allow time for changeovers, classes will finish five minutes before the advertised time.  
  • If you want to use a locker on poolside, you will need a £1 coin to release the key. You will get the £1 back when you return the key.   
  • There is a male group changing area and a female group changing area located on poolside. 
  • Accessible changing facilities are located on poolside.
  • The pools complex, including the changing area is a shoe-free zone, this includes the removal of flip flops.
